beautifully crafted and highly decorative Beresford & Hicks 1920s Continental-style carved oak side or serving table, featuring a wonderfully warm golden oak colour and superb period detailing throughout.
The table is fitted with two frieze drawers retaining their original decorative brass handles, raised on striking carved cup-and-cover supports united by a box framed stretcher base. The front apron and upper mouldings are richly carved with repeating decorative motifs, giving the piece an elegant yet substantial appearance.
The figured drawer fronts contrast beautifully against the quarter sawn oak grain, while the proportions make it an ideal console, side table, serving table, or statement hallway piece.
A very characterful and well-balanced example of early 20th century English furniture, combining strong craftsmanship with Continental influence and decorative carving.
