A superb and exceptionally well-preserved pair of late Victorian bedside cabinets, beautifully crafted in richly figured burr walnut and decorated with fine boxwood stringing and delicate floral marquetry.
The cabinets display a wonderfully warm golden-brown colour and an outstanding natural burr walnut grain, enhanced by a rich and well-established patina. Finding a genuine matching pair of Victorian bedside cabinets of this quality and in such remarkably clean condition is increasingly uncommon.
Each cabinet features a beautifully figured burr walnut top with an elegant moulded edge. The panelled doors are framed by contrasting mouldings and fine line inlay, with particularly attractive floral marquetry decoration positioned centrally within each door.
The doors retain their elegant original-style brass drop handles and open in opposing directions, making the cabinets ideal for positioning on either side of a bed. Each interior is clean and fitted with a practical central shelf, providing useful storage while maintaining the cabinets’ compact proportions.
The cabinets are raised on traditional burr walnut plinth bases, framed by dark moulded edging that complements the rich colour of the walnut and gives each piece a strong, balanced appearance.

Presented in exceptional antique condition.
Both cabinets have been professionally cleaned, carefully polished and traditionally hand waxed in our workshop, enhancing the exceptional burr walnut figuring, warm colour and beautiful period patina.
The cabinets are structurally solid, clean throughout and ready for immediate use. The doors open and close correctly, the interior shelves remain in place, and the handles and decorative inlay are beautifully preserved.
Considering their considerable age, the overall condition is truly remarkable. As genuine Victorian antiques, they naturally display some very minor age-related signs of previous use, including occasional light surface marks, fine scratches and subtle variations in colour and patina.
These gentle signs of age are entirely consistent with authentic antique furniture and do not detract from the cabinets’ exceptional appearance, quality or functionality. They should not be expected to appear completely new, but it is increasingly rare to find a matching pair of this period in such beautifully preserved condition.
