A handsome Victorian mahogany pedestal desk of excellent proportions, featuring a beautifully fitted olive green hand-tooled leather writing surface with elegant gilt decoration.
This is a particularly attractive and practical desk, offering nine drawers with original-style turned wooden knobs and a rich mahogany grain throughout. The desk has been well cared for and remains in very good condition, displaying a lovely warm colour and patina.
One of the great advantages of this piece is that it is fully finished on all sides, including the reverse, allowing it to be used freestanding in the centre of a room rather than against a wall.
